FARMERS IN FLUX

This project was part of a two year collaboration called ‘An artist, a farmer and a scientist walk into a bar’ produced by the Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation in association with The Living Classroom in Bingara.

‘Farmers in Flux’ is a storytelling project about farmers and their journeys of change towards more ecological farming practices. Imogen interviewed farmers in the drought and fire ravaged New England region from 2018 - 2019. The participating farmers are Jane Pickard and Ray South from Banded Bee Farm; Alex Hunter and Bob Moylan from Armidale; and Lisa Daly from Hernani. These stories will be published on the project website in 2020.

Imogen developed a Speed Dating event bringing participating farmers together with ecologists to experiment with farmer/scientist relationships. She also collaborated with farmer, scientist and educator Dr Judi Earl to develop The Grazing Game which was presented at Cementa Festival in November 2019.

Head to the project website and the Farmers in Flux page for more information.
