Bio

The Occasional Collective is the hub of collaborations and projects by Imogen Semmler.

Imogen is an agroecologist, science educator and creative innovator who is passionate about healthy soils and landscapes in our farming systems.

She creates fun and interactive projects which blend performance, participatory games and education. These experiences encourage play, curiosity, creativity and discussion around a concept or idea.

Imogen completed an Honours degree in Ecology at the University of New England in 2020 and is an agroecologist with Farming for the Future, delivering the ecological data to evaluate the relationships between farm business performance and on-farm natural capital.

Imogen has extensive experience across project management, programming and producing for events, festivals, theatre, public art, panels, conferences and interdisciplinary art projects. She was also the founding Artistic Director of Underbelly Arts, an event for emerging and experimental artists in Sydney, 2007-2012.

Imogen is a member of the Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation.
